BIO
Charles Carpenter-Simms, affectionately known as “Bobo Bustem Up”
by his late uncle Joe and “CLSmooth” by his mom, is a 6’2″ defensive
back in the 2026 class who attends Newton South High School in
Massachusetts. A natural athlete and leader, Charles embodies
determination, discipline, and a passion for football that has been with
him since early childhood.
The youngest of nine siblings, Charles grew up surrounded by a large, supportive family that has been instrumental in shaping his values and goals. His journey in football began in 3rd grade, but his love for the sport started even earlier. At just 4 years old, Charles boldly told his mom that he wanted to become a football player and a pastor so he could minister to his team on Sundays. This combination of athletic ambition and a desire to inspire others remains central to who Charles is today.

Playmaking Ability:
Charles displays a knack of making impactful plays on the defensive side of the ball, showcasing his ability to cover and react quickly in coverage putting himself in position to make plays on the ball during 1v1
Fluid Hips:
His agility and smooth movement in and out of breaking points highlight his defensive prowess and versatility in coverage.

Ball Skills:
Carpenter-Simms demonstrates excellent ball skills in pass coverage, utilizing his long arms and frame to disrupt passes and makes play on the ball effectively.
Speed:
With a confirmed 40-yard dash time of 4.68 seconds, Charles exhibits impressive speed that adds to his defensive capabilities and overall value as a player.
