When he’s not on the football field, Charles spends time visiting his grandmother in Wilson, NC, where he learns the carpentry trade from his father, Charles Simms. These visits are a way for Charles to stay grounded and connect with his family’s roots. The skills he’s learning in carpentry also reflect his commitment to discipline, precision, and creativity—qualities that serve him well both on and off the field.
Charles is also an avid basketball player who has competed with notable AAU teams like the Spartans. His experience in basketball has contributed to his athleticism, agility, and ability to perform under pressure.
